How to find and filter today’s football matches in Brazil
Learn how to find the day’s matches and use filters by competition, country, Brasília time and match status. This method helps separate live, upcoming, postponed and finished matches.
Start with the date and time zone
Open a fixtures page and select today’s date. Check that the times are shown in Brasília time, which uses UTC−3 for most of the year. International websites may display the local time at the match venue or another time zone. This detail prevents you from confusing a match scheduled for 8 p.m. in Brazil with a game kicking off at a different time abroad.
Filter by the competition you want to follow
Use the competition, league or tournament field to narrow the list. You can choose, for example, the Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil, Campeonato Paulista, Copa Libertadores, Champions League or Premier League. On days with many matches, this filter separates major tournaments from youth categories, friendlies and less-followed competitions.
Use the country filter to find domestic leagues
The country filter shows the competitions organised in each territory. To look for Brazilian football, select Brazil and then the competition you want. To follow English matches, choose England; for Argentine fixtures, Argentina. Continental tournaments such as the Libertadores and Champions League usually appear under an international category or the relevant confederation.
Sort the list by kick-off time
Sort the fixtures by time to see which matches start first. The list generally shows scheduled games with confirmed kick-off times as well as matches whose times have not yet been set. If there is a time-range filter, choose periods such as morning, afternoon or evening. Before making plans, check whether the date or kick-off time has changed, which is common because of television coverage, logistics or weather conditions.
Understand the statuses shown next to each match
The status indicates the game’s situation. “Scheduled” or “upcoming” means it has not kicked off yet. “Live” indicates a match in progress, usually with the minute and score. “Half-time” indicates the break between the two halves. “Full-time” means the match has ended. You may also see “postponed”, when the match will be rescheduled, “suspended”, when it has been interrupted, and “cancelled”, when it will not be played.
Confirm the information with an official source when necessary
A fixtures table is useful for quick reference, but the schedule can change shortly before kick-off. To confirm the time, stadium, broadcast details or reason for a postponement, check the official website and channels of the competition, club or federation. This is especially important for finals, rounds with simultaneous kick-offs and matches affected by the weather.
